Nasfund Set to Host 5th Annual Employer Awards

Nasfund is delighted to announce its 5^th Annual Employer Awards to celebrate employers who have made exceptional impacts towards their employees’ superannuation throughout 2022. This event is scheduled to take place on Friday, August 18^th, 2023 at the APEC Haus in Port Moresby.

The Nasfund Annual Employer Awards have become a significant occasion on the national business calendar, recognizing employers for their unwavering commitment to their employees’ financial well-being and retirement planning. Through these awards, Nasfund aims to acknowledge and celebrate the exceptional employers who have gone above and beyond in ensuring their employees ‘ superannuation needs are met accordingly.

Nasfund’s Chief Executive Officer, Rajeev Sharma in announcing the event, said that,

‘’We are excited to host the Nasfund Annual Employer Awards once again, as it allows us to acknowledge employers who understand the importance of superannuation in securing their employees’ financial futures.

We believe that recognizing and celebrating these outstanding and responsible employers not only showcases their achievements but also allows us to connect, build trust, encourage growth, and inspire and motivate other employers to follow suit and prioritize the financial well-being of their workforce.

This year, we are pleased that an external auditor has been engaged to evaluate and review all nominees. As a Fund, we have taken this extra step to ensure that trust is maintained between the Fund and our employers and to reassure them that selections made have undergone stringent processes.’’

The best-performing employers who have been compliant with the Superannuation General Provisions Act 2000, especially sections that govern timely remittance of contributions, proper onboarding of new members with correct biodatas captured, and other related correspondence will be awarded according to the following categories:

• Category A – Employers contributing more than K100,000 per month.
• Category B – Employers contributing between K50,000 and K100,000 per month.
• Category C – Employers who contribute less than K50,000 per month.

Winners from these three categories will then be based on the respective awards as follows:

1. Most Compliant Employer
2. Best Employer with Employer Voluntary Contributions
3. Best Employer with Member Voluntary Contributions
4. Most Compliant in Account Maintenance
5. Best Non-Mandatory Contribution Employer
6. Nasfund Chairwoman’s Award

The Annual Employer Awards ceremony will also allow exciting opportunities for networking and knowledge sharing among attendees by bringing together industry leaders, and representatives from the business community, creating an environment of collaboration and innovation.
