Nasfund has recently collaborated with one of PNG’s iconic beverage manufacturers – Pacific Industries Limited to deliver shopfloor presentations to more than 550 of its employees nationwide.
The presentations were delivered through close collaboration between Nasfund’s Regional Team Leaders at the branches and Pacific Industries Limited’s 15 centers throughout the country. This initiative was driven by a shared commitment to enhancing employee well-being and financial awareness.
Nasfund’s Chief Executive Officer, Rajeev Sharma explained that the series of shopfloor presentations delivered by the Fund’s Marketing Team was designed to provide Pacific Industries employees with valuable insights into financial planning, retirement readiness, and the importance of long-term savings.
Commenting on this collaboration, He stated that,
‘’Nasfund is excited to work closely with Pacific Industries Limited throughout the month of August to extend our mission of securing the financial future of Papua New Guineans.
Using our extensive Branch network, our teams in Rabaul, Kimbe, Kavieng, Madang, Goroka, and Hagen have collaborated with representatives of Pacific Industries Limited in the outside centers to deliver presentations on superannuation and financial awareness to their staff.
In the Nation’s capital alone, our Marketing Team took two weeks to visit each division of Pacific Industries Limited to deliver the presentations resulting in a total of more than 550 employees in both Port Moresby and the 15 PIL centers undergoing the sessions.’’
Mr Sharma was pleased with the outcome of the collaboration, adding that it aligns with Nasfund’s core values with the objective of empowering members with the necessary knowledge and tools to make informed financial decisions for the long term.
The Human Resource Manager for Pacific Industries Limited, Mr. Andrew Topo who was very instrumental in organizing this collaboration also expressed satisfaction with the outcome of shopfloor presentations stating that,
“At Pacific Industries, our employees are at the heart of our success. This collaboration with Nasfund underscores our commitment to their holistic financial well-being. By offering them access to expert financial guidance, we aim to educate and empower our employees to make informed decisions so they can change their mindset from a ‘borrowing culture’ to a ‘savings culture’.
The on-site presentations have also assisted us in identifying employees who are currently working but not contributing and over 100 employees with nil beneficiaries have also been assisted in filling out the Member Details Update Form (MDUF) to secure their savings.’’
Mr. Topo highlighted that the Management of Pacific Industries Limited is also pleased with this recent collaboration and He urged other employers through their Human Resources division to reach out to Nasfund to organize similar presentations for their staff to ensure they are well-informed to make financial decisions for themselves and their families.
