New NASFUND Board Appointment - Ms Florence Willie
The Chairman of NASFUND BOARD, Mr Hulala Tokome is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Florence Willie to its Board of Directors. Ms Florence Willie replaces Mr David Doig as the representative of the Employers Federation of Papua New Guinea (EFPNG) on the NASFUND Board. Ms Willie, a lawyer by profession, is specialised in human resource management, industrial relations, employment and labour law. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the Employers Federation of PNG and has served 15 years in that capacity. Prior to this role, Ms Willie was employed as a practising lawyer with Australian Law Firm, Blake Dawson Waldron Lawyers, who today are known as Ashurst Lawyers. Ms Willie has also taught at the Legal Training Institute as a lecturer in Commercial Law. Welcoming Ms Willie, Mr Tokome said “Ms Willie brings to the Board Legal as well as Human Resource Management expertise which will complement the Board’s diversity of skill sets. I am even more pleased that Ms Willie also brings gender representation and joins Ms Tamzin Wardley as the second female director on the NASFUND Board. Ms Willie is highly respected in the business community, in government circles as well as among our trade unions fraternity. On behalf of the Board, we will look forward to Ms Willie’s contribution and working with her for the benefit of the Fund and our members.
Ms Willie’s appointment is effective 1st January 2019 and subject to the usual Bank of PNG Regulatory Fit & Proper clearance.
Mr Tokome also took the opportunity to thank Mr David Doig for his contribution to the Board and wished him well in his future endeavours. Mr Doig resigned from the Board to spend more time on his printing business.
