New NASFUND Appointments
Recent appointments in senior roles have been made at NASFUND. Mr Arua Taravatu has been appointed as the new Manager Information Technology while Mr Turaho Morea has been appointed as Strategy Coordinator. Mr Taravatu has a strong background in network engineering and was formerly with DataNets (now a Digicel Busines) and for the last 8 years was employed with Telikom PNG in various IT Leadership roles including Manager Telinet ISP Operations, Manager Core Internet Protocol Services and recently as Manager Fixed & IP Architecture.
Mr Turaho Morea is a former employee of NASFUND and has vast experience and understanding of the superannuation industry having worked as Team Leader Business Development and General Manager Corporate Services. Mr Morea left in 2013 to pursue to private business and now returns to take up the role of Strategy Coordinator. Mr Morea said;
"When the opportunity to start a new business presented itself, it was a chance I couldn't miss and I took it. I attribute my business acumen ta the principles and practices learnt at NASFUND. These attributes helped me endure and persevere through challenging economic times, to remain relevant and to stay afloat. I have since handed the reigns over to my family and am now eager to take on the new challenge at NASFUND."
CEO Ian Tarutia welcomed the two appointments saying, "Mr Taravatu and Mr Morea were chosen from a field of very strong quality candidates for their respective roles and we are fortunate to have them on board. The Board has a new 5 year Strategic Plan 2019 to 2023 dubbed the Chapel Accord which maps out new growth initiatives and investment focus for the Fund. Experienced and qualified talent is required to ensure we are able to successfully implement the Board's new strategic objectives."
