NASFUND staff donate blood to help “save a life” drive
NASFUND staff based at its headquarters in Port Moresby took part in the ‘save a life ‘ blood donation drive on Friday.
The initiative is one of the Fund’s approach to encourage staff to be good citizens and be socially responsible through community or social activities at work or at home.
Chief executive officer, Ian Tarutia who turned up to donate blood said such initiatives goes a long way.
“ You may never know if you could be saving yourself, a friend or family member in the future, “ he said.
He said that it was good to see staff volunteer to come and donate blood, it goes to show how ethical and passionate they are to respond to social appeals such as this that will help families and save lives.
The staff donated a total of 34 bags.
The fund will be assisting the ANZ corporate blood donation drive that is been facilitated by the health department to organize for its sub-branches to be part of this initiative.
