NASFUND hosts inaugural Employer Awards Gala Night
The inaugural Employer Awards gala night took place on the 29th of November at the Gateway Hotel, Port Moresby. Starting at 6.30pm most guests were seated by 6 o’clock eager to see what NASFUND had in store for them, by 7 o’clock the room was filled to full capacity. CFO Mr Sharma, speaking on behalf of CEO Mr. Tarutia, set the tone of the evening by welcoming all employer representatives and briefly explained the concept of the Employer Awards. NASFUND Chairman, Mr. Tokome, delivered his remarks, highlighting from the Board’s perspective, the need for more NASFUND Employer engagement, encouraging employers to be interactive for the good of their employees; the benefits of new systems that NASFUND has invested in for the members and numerous initiatives planned by the Board for the next 5 years. By 7:30pm the awards were presented to four of the top 5 category winners and runner-up’s by respective NASFUND executives.
NASFUND brand ambassador Mr. Ase Boas presented the award for the Most Compliant Employer under the Voluntary Contributor category and shared his personal experience with NASFUND as the brand ambassador in the last 6 months. Highlighting the lack of savings culture in Papua New Guinea and specifically in the sporting arena, this opportunity provided to him by NASFUND has greatly changed his perspective on saving for the future and he hopes to continue his ambassadorship in the years to come. Mr Boas, then presented a gift to NASFUND as a token of appreciation in having faith in him and empowering his financial future.
The Chairman’s Award was introduced and presented by NASFUND’s Board Chairman Mr. Hulala Tokome to Eda Ranu Ltd. Mr Gilichibi in closing thanked all guests present and reiterated the continued partnership NASFUND intends to pursue and nurture with all employers for the benefit of NASFUND members.
