NASFUND hosts biggest morning tea

NASFUND and Housed NGO’s raise funds for PNG Cancer Foundation.

Staff of the National Superannuation Fund Limited and its housed NGO’s hosted its first ever biggest morning tea to raise funds for the PNG Cancer Foundation.

The Port Moresby staff and the NGOs comprising Business Coalition against HIV & AIDs (BAHA), Buk bilong Pikinini, Coalition for Change, PNG Institute of Directors and East New Britain Development Corporation contributed from their own pockets to raise a total of K1527. 20.

The event was a first time for the Organization that provided a very informative session where all staff were given a cancer topic to research and present.  

The FUND was privileged to have a special guest Mrs Lynda Babao, wife of Prime Minister Peter O’Neill, who updated the participants of the role of the PNG Cancer Foundation.

The tea also saw number of staff sharing their experiences of having family members suffering from cancer and the battle for survival.

Although emotional, their stories were very encouraging for others to be supportive of their families during their battle against cancer.

Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Warwick Vele thanked everyone on behalf of the Management and stressed on the importance of early detection.

The money raised showed commitment to help the PNG Cancer Foundation to help support and educate people throughout the country.
