Bialla Oil Palm Growers Association join NASFUND’s voluntary Savings Account
The Bialla Oil Palm Growers Association (BOPGA) can now remit their contributions to the Eda Supa voluntary account through a newly approved payroll system to easily deduct their contributions that will be managed under the small growers department.
After ongoing discussions and close collaboration by all parties including BOPGA, Oil Palm Industry Corporation (OPIC) and Hargy limited, the first batch of more than 700 farmers under the papa card category had their first contributions remitted to NASFUND.
With an estimated 4,000 members under the Papa card, the Fund has already rolled out awareness visits from Central Nakanai up to the Meramera divisions and will continue to ensure that the growers understand the processes and benefits of contributing to a long term savings account.
This project wouldn’t have been possible without the hardworking staff and management of Hargy Oil Palm for ensuring that the new payroll software was incorporated to ensure that oil palm growers would have the opportunity to save for their retirement.
